EXTREMELY RARE autobiography of Jewish artist Boris Schatz, founder of the Betzalel school of art. In this bilingual monograph, he relates his works to his life and ideals. The work is prefaced by historian Joseph Klausner and is accompanied by 40 plates large b&w plates, of which 8 are missing in this copy (missing plates - nos. 4, 15, 16, 17, 23, 27, 30 & 33). The text pages themselves also feature some illustrations and text decoration. 395x300mm. 28+35 pages. 32 plates (unbound-folder format). Text is in orange softcover booklet, placed along with the plates within a gray cloth slipcase with some decoration on front. Slipcase slightly worn and very lightly stained. Booklet spine worn and peeling at the middle. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This rare album is else in good condition.
