EXTREMELY RARE! An illustrated Hebrew Haggadah from early years of the State of Israel. It was edited and illustrated by M. Cohen to commemorate his son, Alexander I. Cohen who died during the war of 1948, as part of the Convoy of 35 (Lamed-He) who rushed to help the Jewish kibbutzim of Gush Etzion. The book features numerous text decorations and original illustrations of Jewish and Israeli themes, most of them in color. 240x170mm, 44 pages. Illustrated quarter-cloth hardcover. Cover worn. Cover edges and corners bumped. Back cover peeling at edges. Binding loose. Pages 3-14, 21-30 and 37-40 partially detached. Page 15 detached. Pages yellowing, stained at edges. Some pages stained. Pencil inscription at page 20. Despite the aforementioned wear, this old and rare Israeli Haggadah is in good condition for reading.
