This volume features a complete facsimile of the Sarajevo Haggadah, a 14th-century illuminated manuscript which is considered by many to be the single most beautiful and elaborate manuscript of the Sephardic tradition, and one of the most prized articles of Jewish art in general. The volume is prefaced by a short Hebrew introduction to the Haggadah by Cecil Roth, the eminent British Jewish historian. 240x180mm. 38 text pages and ca.74 double facsimile pages (altogether 152 pages). Gilt illustrated leather Hardcover with dust jacket. Slipcase slightly worn, slipcase spine edges and upper edge partly cracked. Jacket upper edge slightly worn, jacket upper corners bumped. [SUMMARY]: This facsimile of the celebrated Sarajevo Haggadah is otherwise in very good condition.
