RARE beautifully illustrated alphabet book published during the twelfth year of Italian Fascist regime intended specifically for Italian children living abroad in order to indoctrinate them in the strength and glories of Mussolini`s Fascist government. The propagandist book introduces key concepts in Fascist lexicon, such as Duce under the letter D, Tripoli under the letter T, etc. Carlo Testi`s illustrations are typical for the style prevalent in children`s literature in this period. 250x230mm. Unpaginated [88 pages]. Illustrated board Hardcover with cloth spine. Cover yellowing and stained. Front cover rubbed and slightly peeling. Rear cover heavily rubbed and peeling. Spine hinges and edges partly torn and peeling. Pages detached from binding (pages binding still intact). Small stamp on inner cover upper corner. Title-page upper corner creased. Title-page bottom corner slightly chipped. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare illustrated alphabet book, a real treat to all serious collectors of old children`s books and especially Italian Fascist period children`s books, is otherwise in good condition.
