The first volume contains the text of forty-seven communications which were presented under the first three of the seven "leading themes" (around which the Congress was organized): Diachrony and Synchrony in the Egyptian Language, The Religious "Philosophy", Archaeological Survey and Historical Geography of the Delta and Middle Egypt, together with the report of the Demotic Studies group. Contains 50 papers in French, English and German, with French summary of English and German articles printed under the final section of each article. Contains 69 b&w figures, illustrations and plans/maps (also one fold-out plan). 270x210mm. 306 pages. Softcover. Thin plastic protective dust-jacket slightly peeling. Cover corners and edges wrinkled and worn. Spine wrinkled. Spine edges and hinges bumped/wrinkled. Rear whitepages bottom corner/creased. Some pages bottom corner bumped/wrinkled. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare volume with proceedings from an important Egyptological conference is in good condition.
