Description
RARE, IN YIDDISH ONLY. A short dissertation by famous Broadway set designer Boris Aronson about the artistic style of Marc Chagall. At the time, Chagall was not much more than an emerging artist, having illustrated a number of Yiddish books and had his artwork displayed in Berlin in his absence for a decade during World War I. Includes one color and 18 B&W reproductions of Chagall`s paintings to accompany the text. [ATTRIBUTES:] 250x190mm, 29pp. Gray board hardcover with gray cloth spine. [CONDITION:] Cover faded along edges and hinges. Spine yellowed, frayed and disintegrating. All pages lightly yellowed, with faint age stains. Binding still solid despite spine damage. [SUMMARY:] A rare booklet in relatively good condition for its age, though gradually deteriorating.
