A well-preserved early American edition of Eliot Warburton`s popular account of his travels throughout the Greece, Turkey, Egypt and the Levant in 1843. This edition does not include illustrations. 190x130mm, XIV+268+VII+242 pages. Marbled quarter-leather hardcover with gilt lettering on spine. Cover worn. Cover edges bumped. Spine worn, and at one place slightly peeling. Ex libris stickers on endpapers. Pages slightly yellowing with few aging stains on shoulders. Save for the mostly external wear, this early edition of a 19th century oriental travel journal is in good condition.
