This rare book is a comprehensive history of Chile before its colonization in the 18th century by the Spanish conquistadors by an eminent Chilean historian, teacher, War of the Pacific veteran and a prominent scholar of the Mapuche people - Tomás Guevara Silva (1865-1935). This is one of the first historical studies of precolonial (pre-Hispanic) periods of Chile that incorporated into research evidences from the fields of archaeology and anthropology.
