RARE critical edition of an influential early treatise on Hebrew grammar and Masoretic Text by Aaron ben Moses ben Asher (died c.960) - "Sefer Dikdukei ha-Te`amim" (Grammar or Analysis of the Accents). Ben Asher was an eminent Jewish scribe from Tiberias in northern Israel who refined the Tiberian system of writing vowel sounds in Hebrew. Ben Asher is regarded by Jews of all streams as having produced the most accurate version of the Masoretic Text of the Tanakh. This edition contains extensive appendices with notes and commentaries by Aron Dotan (Deutscher, b.1928), Professor Emeritus at Tel Aviv University. Contains facsimile from manuscripts. [ALL VOLUMES]: 340x245mm. [XVIII+280] + [XII+460] pages (vols.I&II paginated as follows: XVIII+147/148-280). Softcover with cloth spine. Spine yellowing and slightly age-stained. Spine edges slightly worn. Previous owner`s name written in pen on pre-title page/front inner cover upper edge. [VOL.I]: Cover slightly stained/age-stained. Rear cover and some pages upper corner slightly creased. [VOL.II]: Front cover dirty/slightly age-stained.
