RARE Torah published by Va`ad Hatzala in Munich, 1947, and distributed gratis to European Jews who survived the Holocaust. Includes Rashi and Onkelos illuminations alongside the text. Includes all 5 books of the Torah as well as the books of Ruth, Eichah ("Lamentations") and Kohelet ("Ecclesiastes"). This particular copy of the Hebrew Bible was owned by Eliezer Kaplan, Israel`s first Minister of Finance, and bears his name on the cover. [ATTRIBUTES:] 175x135mm, 194pp. Brown leather hardcover with ribbed spine. Gilt text and decorations on front and spine. [CONDITION:] Cover and spine edges rubbed. Stamp reading "Eliezer Kaplan, Min. of Finance" on front cover in silver lettering. Ink stamp on front white-page dedicates this book to the Israeli Defense Forces. All pages lightly yellowed. [SUMMARY:] This rare Bible, once owned by a key figure in Israeli history, has been preserved in good condition despite some shelf-wear.
