Description
EXTREMELY RARE FIRST EDITION. Diary of Frederick Hermann Kisch CBE, CB, DSO (1888-1943), who was an eminent British Army officer and Zionist leader, the highest ranking Jew to serve in the British Army. This diary covers the period of F.H.Kisch`s service as the Palestine Zionist Executive after Chaim Weizmann, and is one of the few reliable sources for the failure of Balfour Declarations, or in the words of David Lloyd George from his foreword to the diary: "For the historian it is a record of the greatest possible importance". Contains many b&w plates. [ATTRIBUTES:] 225x145mm, 478 pp. Black cloth Hardcover with gilt lettering on spine. [CONDITION:] Cover dirty. Cover corners and spine edges bumped and lightly worn. Frontispiece almost loose - a known problem with this edition. Inner rear hinge binding visible but solid. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book, of utmost importance to students of British-ruled Palestine, has suffered some light damage but is overall in good condition for its age.
