The poem depicts Judas Maccabeus and his struggle against the Hellenic regime in Palestine during the 2nd century BCE, celebrating Jewish nationalism and Jewish self-defense. 215x150mm. 192 pages. Green quarter-cloth hardcover. Cover stained and slightly worn. Cover edges and corners bumped and peeling. Library stamp on title page verso. Title page and pages 19, 21 and 25 edge/s slightly torn - NO damage to text. Page 23 bottom edge wrinkled. Pages browning. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in otherwise good condition.
