RARE FIRST ENGLISH EDITION of the celebrated travelogue of Marco Polo (1254-1324), a Venetian merchant traveler, whose recorded travels did much to introduce Europeans to Central Asia and China. 215x280mm. LXXX+781 pages. Brown rebound Hardcover. Cover and spine slightly worn. Cover corners slightly bumped, front cover bottom corner worn. Spine edges bumped. Cover bottom edge slightly water-stained. Gilt title sticker on spine. Few small wormholes on spine hinges. Grease stain on front inner cover bottom edge. Stamp on title page. Fixed inner spine of first and last few pages. First five pages worn and partly fixed with tape. Fold-out map age-stained with two small tears (nothing missing). Pages yellowing, mildly age-stained and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare book is in fine reading condition.
