Description
RARE mid-19th century of "Sefer Ikarim", a work by the 14th-century Jewish philosopher Joseph Albo, in which he lays out his claims against Christianity, and attempts to provide a simple, axiomatic basis of the Jewish faith. The book has been expanded and extensively annotated by the German rabbi Gedaliah Lipschitz. Endpapers and whitepage feature numerous names of previous owners, and their commentary. 180x130mm. Unpaginated. Black cloth Hardcover. Cover very worn, bumped and peeling. Cover edges and corners bumped. Spine and whitepage missing. Pen inscription on title page and on the shoulders of several pages. Few age-stains on some pages. Pages yellowing and slightly dog-eared. [SUMMARY]: Despite some external wear, the inside of the book is preserved very well; accordingly this extremely rare book is still in good reading condition.
