This RARE book is the famous `Bible de Royaumont`, popular in France and elsewhere in Europe from the latter part of the 17th century on. Sieur de Royaumont is probably a pseudonym for Nicolas Fontaine (1625-1709) - a historiographer of Port-Royal and companion in captivity of Lemaistre de Sacy in Bastille. Few pen-marks on title-page. Wormhole on pages 97-126 bottom edge - NO damage to text. About half of the pages damp-stained or water-stained. Page edges uneven due to rebinding. Pages yellowing and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare edition has sustained some unfortunate damage due to negligent storage, but is still in readable condition.
