Purple cloth gilt embossed Hardcover. Text block upper edge gilt. Cover and spine yellowing/age-stained, faded, rubbed and slightly stained. Spine hinges cracked and tattered. Spine edges tattered. Binding visible and slightly loose between pages 32-33, 56-57, 120-121, 128-129, 160-161, 168-169 and 176-177. Pages slightly wavy, yellowing and rough-cut as published. [SUMMARY]: This extremely rare first edition of poems by the iconic figure in German modern literature has sustained some wear to cover, but is otherwise in good condition.
