EXTREMELY RARE FIRST EDITION of a German translation of Sappho`s Odes by German poet Prof. Karl Wilhelm Ramler. Contains 53+2 odes with notes by Ramler. [ATTRIBUTES:] 180x110mm, VI+175pp. Brown marbled REBOUND hardcover. [CONDITION:] All cover and spine corners and edges worn and bumped. Spine chipped and crumbling, but binding solid. Page 175 duplicated, appears at both front and end of book. Both instances of p.175 marked with pencil, first instance stained. All pages lightly yellowing. [SUMMARY:] An extremely rare German translation of Sappho, rebound but solid, externally fair but internally good.
