VERY RARE. Written by Max Nordau based on a fairytale originally created by his daughter, Maxa. The story is accompanied by 10 full-color and 4 B&W illustrations by artist Hans Neumann. [ATTRIBUTES:] 255x200mm, 188pp. Rebound grey cloth hardcover with green-grey spine. Large portions of original cover pasted on new cover. [CONDITION:] Front-cover illustration scratched. Cover edges and corners bumped and rubbed. Spine heavily browned and faded. Previous owner`s name on whitepage, with traces of another owner`s name rubbed out. Outer page edges dusty all around, with some stains. Illustration between pages 68 and 69 is TORN at bottom edge, damaging the artwork itself (no paper missing). [SUMMARY:] A rare publication with unique illustrations, in good condition for its age, despite some unfortunate damage to one illustration.
