RARE yearbook published by the leadership of the Jewish community in Vienna, with a Jewish calendar for the year 5626, as well as numerous articles on Jewish figures and on Jewish theological and other issues. Also included are several pages of contemporary advertisements. The text is in gothic lettering (Fraktur), one article on halachic concerns is in Hebrew. 122x181mm. XLIV+271 [+22 unnumbered calendar pages and 31 unnumbered advertisements]. Brown marbled Hardcover with brown cloth spine. Gilt lettering on spine. Text blocked edges marbled. Cover slightly worn. Cover corners and edges bumped and worn/peeling. Spine stained and partly peeled. Library sticker residues on spine. Spine edges peeling. Spine hinges partly peeled. Sticker on front inner cover with stamp above it. Binding slightly loose and visible on rear inner cover. Small ink inscription on whitepage. Stamp on whitepages, on titlepages, and pages 1,79,97,245 and 271 (stamps are not on the text, thus - NO damage to text). Text on pages XL and XLI underlined with blue pencil, not obscuring the text. Several pages slightly age-stained. Few pages very slightly stained - NO damage to text. Pages slightly yellowing and mildly wavy. [SUMMARY]: This rare and wonderful example of the vivid Jewish life in 19th-century Vienna is in good reading condition.
