EXTREMELY RARE copy of the travel journal of Lady Judith Montefiore, the wife of the famous 19th-century Anglo-Jewish philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore and an established philanthropist and public figure in her own right, known for her extensive charity and piety. The book details her second travel to Palestine in the years 1838-1839, where she and her husband visited the various Jewish communities living in Palestine, and studied the problems they faced.
