THIS VOLUME ONLY - Vierter Jahrgang. EXTREMELY RARE original edition of the fourth issue of "He-Halutz", a periodical published irregularly between the years 1852 and 1889. Written by many eminent Jewish scholars and in the last issues almost entirely by the editor Osias Heschel Schorr, the periodical offered a scientific and critical approach to Jewish texts, history and tradition. 215x135mm. 94 pages. Black quarter-cloth Hardcover. Cover and spine stained and slightly worn. Cover bottom corners and spine edges bumped. Sticker on spine. Ex-libris sticker on endpaper (Prof.Isaiah Tishby). Title page partly loose from binding. Title and last pages partly repaired (title page text damaged; last page text slightly rubbed, but still readable). Pencil inscription (name and date) of Prof. Gutmann of the Hebrew University on rear endpaper. Small stamp on title page and page 94. Faded pen inscription on title page. Sticker traces on title and last pages. Pages yellowing and wavy. [SUMMARY]: This rare issue of one of the earliest Jewish enlightenment movement periodicals is in good condition.
